I wish I could just take off and head out to Costa Rica Surf Vacation!

October 7, 2009 Posted by admin

This is terrible! I had quite the busy summer and I didn’t really get much in the way of vacations; I thought it would be alright but it isn’t! I keep daydreaming about some decent vacations abroad, and not even my occasional inter-state escapades seem to do the trick anymore, in soothing my mind. Right now… if I could choose just about any destination and take off, I think I’d go for a costa rica surf vacation. I was never much of a surfer dude, but I think it’s just about time I try it; well, I might even e really good at it! Maybe the Costa Rican people will revere me as some kind of ancient deity reincarnated! I don’t know… maybe I’ll just catch some sun and revel under the clear blue sky.

Oh man, I really should stop torturing myself like this. But I couldn’t help but making some research, and I immediately came across this video by the Costa Rican Tourism Board. Within this footage, they make a great job of making people feel drawn to their beautiful land, and specifically make me feel depressed because I can’t go there just right now. But I will! In the upcoming months, I’ll be doing serious planning and next summer, it’s either Costa Rica… or Costa Rica anyway! Sounds like a really fun place to visit, wouldn’t you agree?

This is why I always hire lawyers from the West Coast!

October 6, 2009 Posted by admin

Being a lawyer is by no means a walk in the park: it takes courage, determination and a temper of steel. Only by developing such qualities can one possibly aspire to becoming a good lawyer. Being a good lawyer is all about taking huge amounts of pressure without ever losing hope, as well as being capable to withstand all kinds of injury and profanity without even flinching or taking offense. That’s because being a good lawyer is all about living with a sole purpose in mind – to win a case, and to prove the opposing parties wrong. Trust me, we all should learn to respect our lawyers; well, unless they look anything like this:

See? That’s why I always choose lawyers who come from the west coast… such as this reputable Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney. That’s because I like it best when my lawyers know how to hold their body fluids in place, when faced with increasing pressure. At least in the west coast, people seem to be more at ease around cameras; can you imagine if your lawyer went on a television show defending your case and trying to keep you from going to jail… and then something happened like what you just watched in this video? I have a feeling that you’d hardly have a chance of winning. This is why I always hire lawyers from the West Coast.

Nowadays, trade shows are all about the SHOW… And it’s amazing!

October 6, 2009 Posted by admin

Remember when I posted earlier on my amazement concerning modern trade shows? I’ve kept researching the subject, and right now I feel like a complete ignoramus. I was completely blown away when I saw these modern Display Exhibits from a company offering Trade Show Exhibit Rentals… and I barely realized that was the tip of the Iceberg. Granted, these Custom Exhibits are impressive, and they provide small to medium businesses with amazing tools for taking part in trade shows… but still, it all pales in comparison with the hottest big-time trade shows which take place all over the country, all the time! I must have been living under a rock all these years, for never having noticed the amazing technological developments in this area.

Okay, in all truth I have watched my share of trade show videos in the past few years… yet somehow, I never really paused to realize: that’s the same kind of trade shows I used to visit all the time when I was a teenager! However, things were much different back in the day. Presently, trade shows have become amazing multimedia shows, with intricate displays, humongous screens and flashing lights. It’s not really about the trade any more… apparently, it’s all about the show! After getting all this information, I really feel like setting up my own booth and participating in a trade show related with my area of expertise; but I’m so overwhelmed I barely know where to start. Maybe one of you readers can provide me with some orientation? Feel free to use the comments box down below if you can come up with some good suggestions.

A perfect Denver Hotel to spend a perfect week in Denver!

October 6, 2009 Posted by admin

Pop quiz, hot shot: do you know which is the so-called art capital of the West? Do you know what’s the most influential city in Colorado? Are you wondering why I’m writing this post like it was a Jeopardy show? Well, the answer to all these questions (okay, MOST of these questions) is none other than DENVER! One of the most fascinating cities in the US I’ve always wanted to visit, and one that I’m effectively thinking about visiting later this month. It all started when I came across this Denver Hotel which is offering quite enticing prices, and I really couldn’t help myself… sooner than I realized, my mental cogs were already turning westbound, thus getting me in a state of huge anticipation regarding a visit to Denver.

I’ve been making some research concerning things worth seeing in Denver, and it’s a good think I’m planning to visit for a whole week. There’s really a lot of things going on in Denver and I want to see it all! From the beautiful Montrose landscapes to the Colorado Railroad museum (I’m a big fan of trains) to the Royal Gorge bride and Park… Denver looks like a wonderful place to visit. And I think I’m going there just in the right season as well; from what I’ve read so far, it seems as though Fall is the perfect season to visit this city, which apparently gets particularly striking this time of the year. If anyone out there is familiar with Denver, don’t be shy! I want some great ideas on how to spend my time there, so kindly use the comments box down below to make your suggestions.

It’s either Credit Card Consolidation or joining Credit Shoppers Anonymous!

October 6, 2009 Posted by admin

Sometimes I get really pissed off at myself, because I keep doing the same mistakes over and over again. But then again, sometimes I find comfort in thinking that it’s actually a common thing for Americans to do, especially if we’re talking about credit card consolidation. Truth of the matter is that we all tend to see credit money as free money, but that’s really not the case, is it? Not only does credit have to get paid eventually, but the longer you take to pay it, the higher fees will be associated to your account. In other words, paying stuff with credit is a really bad idea because most of the times you’re trying to pay with money you don’t really have; and eventually you’ll have to pay more money than you spent in the first place.

Even though I’m well aware of this issue, I seem to keep stumbling over the same problem over and over again: expired credit and accumulated debts. So this time, I decided I’ll try somewhat of a new approach to reduce credit card debt; I’m going out and get myself some appropriate credit card counseling and try to come up with a good action plan. Heck, if that’s what it takes I’ll even join a group of credit shopers anonymous, if such thing even exists. But I’m going to do something about this problem and sort it out once and for all. And if you’re facing similar problems, I advise you to stand up for yourself and mend your bad credit issues!

I play with a lot of things… but never with fire!

October 6, 2009 Posted by admin

Okay, so I guess it’s time for a public service announcement. If you’re a regular visitor to this little corner in cyberspace, you probably have a good sense of who I am: the regular happy-go-lucky, boisterous bucko kind of guy. In fact, I’m indeed a big fan of messing around and playing with people. But there’s just one thing I never play with, and that’s something I’ve learned from an early age: not to play with fire. You see, when I was a kid I almost set my house on fire from playing with matches. All things accounted for, I only burned down the living room curtains and got the ceiling and most of the walls dyed black… but the utter sensation of terror I picked up from that little experiment was sufficient to provide me with a life-long respect towards fire.

As a grown-up, not only have I given up playing with fire (there are lots of things more interesting to play with ;-) , but I’ve become somewhat afraid of big fires. I don’t mean I get scared every time I make a barbecue, but I’m a little obsessive with the idea my house may burn down. That’s why I have invested in a good fire alarm as well as a dorgard: I may never have to use them, but at least it makes me feel reassured!

My favorite little gadget, the iPhone: I might just become an app developer!

October 6, 2009 Posted by admin

Even though I normally really don’t go after the marketing hype – especially when it comes to technology, I should say the iPhone is very much the exception that confirms this rule. Whenever I see the masses herding next to the latest technological gadgets, I tend to stay away from it… but the iPhone? Come on, that’s an amazing smartphone, and a rather interesting piece of hardware, as well. Besides, with its unique positioning and reputation, Apple has made sure there will be fertile grounds for iphone apps development , which in turn means that us users will keep getting treated with some interesting new applications and developments in the years to come. This is why I think the iPhone is on a league of its own, when it comes to smartphones!

In fact, I should say I’ve been doing a little bit of dabbling into the whole concept of iphone apps development . I’ve been thinking about a new concept for iPhone apps that I haven’t seen elsewhere, and if I realize there’s indeed a market for these apps I’m developing, you can be sure I will getting on the iPhone market! And yes, I know that involves a few technicalities, but hey… I’m a technical kind of guy, and I really don’t think that will be a problem. Let’s wait and see what the future unfolds.

When words aren’t enough to express feelings: try leather!

October 6, 2009 Posted by admin

I was looking for some kind of gift that would soothe my angry girlfriend who feels she’s not getting as much attention as she deserves, and I might just found the perfect thing! The obvious choice would be getting some kind of jewelry (since all girls love getting new accessories), and I happened to come across something that’s arguably even more interesting and tasteful: leather jewelry. I’d never seen this kind of jewelry, but I must say I’m very impressed! Some of those pieces look really interesting and unlike anything I’d ever seen. Take this, for example:

Don’t you think that’s just awesome? It looks sophisticated without going overboard, and all the while it looks simple enough as to be worn on a daily basis. I think my girl is going to love this! And yes, I’m well aware that bribery is hardly ever the best way to get trough an emotional slump… but trust me, I’ve tried everything else. Right now, and to the best of my knowledge, she feels like I’m not giving her enough attention; so I’m hoping that buying her something nice that she can carry with her on a daily basis will be a good way of showing her that I care; also she will know I spent some time looking for something different, rather than just picking up the first little girly gadget I came across. Trust me, there are occasions when words just won’t do the trick anymore; in such occasions you’d better resort to jewelry!

Cheapo computers, no longer! This time I’ll be getting myself a Dell.

October 6, 2009 Posted by admin

Great news, everyone!

If you’ve been looking for new computer hardware (and is there a tech type who isn’t always looking for new gear?), I came across a website where you can find some sweet, sweet discounts! If you’re up for a quick example, just check out this Dell Coupon or maybe these Lenovo Coupons… not bad at all, is it? Besides providing considerable discounts, these coupons focus some of the most popular and influential hardware retailers which operate in our western markets! If you know anything about computers, I won’t even hate to waste my time pointing out just why Dell and Lenovo are some of the most recommendable brands in hardware, right?

I’ve found this promotion just about in the right time, too! My old (3-year old) computer keeps bailing out on me, and it never works like it used to back in the day. Sometimes I think these cheapo brand computers come with a deliberately low lifespan to force us into renewing our hardware consecutively. It feels as though they just get old and crippled in a little over a year… and once they reach that stage, there’s no amount of re-formatting or fine-tuning that will do the trick in keeping a system running smoothly. That’s why this time I’ve decided to keep myself from being a cheap-skate, so I’m buying a top brand computer! Hopefully it will last a lot longer… and using these coupons it won’t actually be much more expensive than getting a white brand.

Today’s Trade Shows are not unlike yesterday’s science fiction!

October 6, 2009 Posted by admin

I guess this shouldn’t really come as much surprise (me being the tech type and all), but I should say… Trade Shows? They’ve REALLY gone a long way in the past couple of years. Yeah, the last time I went to a trade show there was barely even Internet, and I’m fully aware of how technological developments keep pacing up nowadays… but I was really caught by surprise, when I happened to come across a website specializing in Portable Displays and Trade Show Counters. From a technical standpoint, it seems as though trading shows are more sophisticated these days than a full-blown rock concert used to be in my teenage years! Check it out, this is what they call Modular Displays:

Looks really fancy, doesn’t it? Well, just wait until you see the more sophisticated booth, with built-in image projectors, and extended hardware… after seeing all of this, I wouldn’t be much surprised if they’d already come up with some kind of sentient trade booth that does all the promotion on its own! And if you think that’s an overstatement, think again! I’m not just talking about top-league trade shows, here! This is the kind of material that’s used by regular people doing regular run-of-the-mill trade shows. I’m really curious about visiting a modern trade show now, and I really don’t know what turned me away from the trading show world: I used to love trade shows when I was a kid. I’m really glad I found this, I will now investigate for shows worth seeing in my area of residence.
