Take a walk on the wild side, why dont’cha?

January 17, 2010 Posted by admin

Sometimes this unnerving feeling just takes over me, and I cannot help but thinking crazy stuff, talking crazy… and invariably doing crazy! In case you’re wondering my latest craze involves mutating into a biker. Well, not actually mutating, more like shifting into. You see, I’ve always had a mild interest in bikes, but I was never exactly biker material. Until recently, that is. I think it was after watching this old movie on bikers – I don’t even remember the title, but I know for sure it’s a classic – that the whole craze settled in.

I’m not going to sell my car an get a bike, but I may borrow a friend’s bike this week! He’s going on vacation, and he told me that as long as I promised not to kill myself I could use his motorbike. Well, he didn’t actually told me that. In fact we were just browsing around at the BrakeAway website and I started going on a rant of how I’ve recently decided to become a biker myself. He did promise he’d let me drive his bike sometime soon – but only when he has time to teach me how to use it properly. Oh well, you’ve gotta start somewhere, right? Do you suppose some people are just born bikers? Well, I think not!

When something can go wrong, it’ll definitely go wrong!

My bad luck, it certainly never seems to get old. It’s a good thing I’m getting used to it, which makes it easier to go by. But still occasionally very annoying. You see, this morning I went out to pick up some printer paper because I need to print out a bunch of e-books, and they also had some Xerox Phaser 8400 printing ink for sale. Just what I needed! So I bought myself a good half dozen cartridges, reasoning it would be a good investment. Well, it probably would… if only my printer hadn’t just died on me.

I hadn’t used this printer in weeks, maybe months. I somehow assumed it was working just fine – it used to be! So when I get back home and start printing the first few documents, everything runs smoothly until suddenly it gets stuck half-way through printing a page. I tried replacing the cartridge, but it was of no avail. Still dead. So, I’m the proud owner of five brand new ink cartridges, but I don’t have a printer where I can actually use them. I doubt it’ll be worth it trying to repair this old thing, I’ll just try to either sell the ink on ebay or otherwise find a used xerox printer at cheap prices. Oh well, I’m just annoyed because I really wanted to print out those ebooks!

When prophetic dreams cost hundreds of dollars.

January 16, 2010 Posted by admin

Today is just one of those days where I should have never gotten out of bed. In just a few hours, I’ve already managed to waste hundreds of dollars in unnecessary expenses which would have been altogether avoided if I had slept in. Ok, the car insurance fine you already know about. Keepin that incident in mind, it shouldn’t come as much surprise that I felt utterly enraged and nervous when I got home. I rushed to the bathroom, washed my face with cold water to try and calm myself… but it didn’t work. I was so angry I just couldn’t help throwing and punching and smashing things….

Like my bathroom fixtures. Sooner than I know it, I had broken a couple of lightbulbs and the actual vanity – and here I am venting my frustrations on my personal blog while looking for some bathroom vanities online. I guess I got what I had coming in the first place. But it goes without saying, the next time I have some kind of prophetic dream, I’m definitely sleeping it off properly. As opposed to rushing out of the house to bring about a chain of events that ultimately translates into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Oh well, you live and learn.

The day when auto insurance expired.

January 16, 2010 Posted by admin

I’m not generally known for being one of the luckiest guys alive, but today something happened that probably places me in the lower percentile, as far as luck goes. Last night I dreamed I was getting a fine, and it turned out to be the prophetic dream. In fact, when I woke up it did feel rather prophetic, so I really took the time to check if everything was in order with my car.

Much to my surprise, everything was not in order! I noticed my car insurance had expired, so I decided to rush out and take care of it. Worst idea ever. It hadn’t drove a mere two blocks and I heard a siren – you’ve got that right. In my daze to sort the issue out, I was going too fast. The cop approached me with the customary formalities, and as such he asked for my papers. I handed them out and he went about sorting them over. I was absolutely nervous, but still I figured there might be hope he wouldn’t notice something was wrong.

“Your papers seem to be in order, sir”. I was about to sigh in relief when he added “but you forgot to show me the auto insurance policy”. Talk about luck, eh?

Welcome to the 21st century, I hope you make yourselves at home.

In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a new widespread mass communication medium – it’s called the Internet. This thing called internet is wonderful for doing all kinds of communication, from personal to business. And you should know there are many businesses that make it large by learning how to use the Internet to their advantage. Generating business leads using the Internet is an increasingly powerful business weapon, but if you suppose it’s as simple as setting up a website and waiting for customers to find you… well, better to think again.

You see, doing online business is a great idea, but it’s also getting increasingly competitive. If you want your website to show up in the first pages of search results (the only pages that matter), you need to learn a thing or two about search engine optimization. To achieve this, you need to either educate yourself, or simply hire some professionals to do the job for you. There are hundreds of search engine marketing services out there, looking for a chance to help you grow your profits so they can in turn reap their own profits. It’s a whole new way of doing business, and it can be great for every one involved! Welcome to the 21st century, I say. Now, don’t just stand there!

A inner dialogue on good reasons to visit the land of Oz.

January 16, 2010 Posted by admin

Have you ever been to Australia? I’ve never been there myself, but a friend of mine is planning a trip and I’m helping him deal with some technicalities, such as locating a good car hire Canberra airport. It was actually simpler than I expected, and all things accounted for the prices actually look enticing. Seems to me that life down under is a little bit more inexpensive that in the good old United States. After doing a little research on the subject matter, I realized that Australia might even be a good place to visit, or even to live for a while.

The funniest thing about it? Well, for some reason I’d never really thought about visiting the land of Oz. In fact, I just realized I know next to nothing about Australia, except for the fact they have kangaroos and boomerangs and whatnot. In other words, I know next to nothing about that whole continent. That’s just so wrong! I cannot wait for my friend to let me know what life is like over there, and if all goes well maybe I’ll think about doing a little traveling on my own, maybe in the summer time. Although the best time to visit Australia is probably in winter time, since they’re sitting on the opposite hemisphere. Oh, well…

It’s just like getting a degree, except it’s online!

January 16, 2010 Posted by admin

Ahh… the wonders of online degrees. Have you ever thought about it? I mean, REALLY think about it. There was never a time in human history where people could get so much done without leaving the comfort of their home. There was a time when young pupils, eager to learn and hone their craft, had to travel hundreds of miles to get to college. Of course, many people still end up doing just that – but regardless we know have an option. And options are precious things: being able to choose our favored route in life is a blessing in and of itself.

If you’ve been thinking about pursuing a online degree, you will probably be happy to know that many online colleges are now fully accredited as learning institutions. Which goes to say that in some cases getting a online degree is exactly the same thing as getting a traditional degree. The main difference is that you can do it from the comfort of your own home! Granted, some people may prefer sitting in a class and talking with a in-the-flesh professor, but hey… nowadays there are even mixed learning programs, where you can literally take the best from both worlds! If you thought online education was still a fable, you might want do further investigate on the subject matter.

smartphone idrive backup

Ok, maybe I’m being a bit lenient with this post. You see, truth of the matter is this service (called IDrive Lite) isn’t exclusive for the Blackberry. Simply put, I favor the blackberry over similar devices. Still, this online backup is available for other mobile platforms, including iPhones and Androids. By the way, I should have mentioned this is a 100% free service! And it’s available either by 3G or wireless connections. Neat, isn’t it? Just the kind of thing a Blackberry user will like!
