I had never been much into video editing, but just recently I agreed to help my sister-in-law put together a video using a bunch of tapes she had taped over the years. At first I assumed it would be piece of cake – and I guess maybe it would, if we knew what we were doing, that is! Let me tell you, the (seemingly) simple act of converting the tapes to digital format turned out to be quite an ordeal, and I spent almost 3 afternoons just figuring out how it’s done.

I had to install a DV board in my computer, but eventually I did manage to get the footage in digital format. From there, I assumed it would be a breeze – wrong again. I know there are many people who are talented using Adobe Premiere, but I must admit I’m not one of those people. I must admit, at this point I almost feel like handing the job to a CT video production company, because I just know producing this video won’t be easy! And here I always thought video editing was simple enough… just goes to show that I have many things to learn, still!
